The Mail claim Leeds United are willing to listen to offers for Jack Harrison on deadline day with the Englishman still yet to put pen to paper on a new deal at Elland Road – even though, Leicester have completed the signing of winger Tete.

Harrison, 26, scored on Saturday afternoon as he continues his excellent return to form this month. The ex-Manchester City man has had a hand in five goals during five appearances in January, scoring once for Leeds, creating four goals.

It has seen Harrison take his tally to nine goal involvements in 20 appearances this term, a decent return. But Leeds are yet to strike an agreement over his deal, with his contract expiring in 2024. Harrison was thought to be keen to stay.

Leicester have shown plenty of interest in Harrison. The Mail reported this week that the Foxes tabled a fee of £20m for him, but it was rejected. Leicester have since gone on to sign Tete – a player Leeds were loosely linked with last week.

But Leeds could consider an exit and are willing to listen to offers on deadline day, despite Harrison’s recent form. It might be that Harrison is no longer ready to sit down and discuss his future at Elland Road – and would prefer to go.

It is would be a bizarre move. Leeds have had a brilliant window. Bringing in three much-needed players in positions that required strengthening. A left-back – Max Wober solves that issue. Up top – a club-record deal in Georginio Rutter.

We lacked strength in depth in midfield and Weston McKennie is a superb addition, on a loan-to-buy from Juventus. The Leeds squad is now in a good place, even with Diego Llorente due to join Roma on a similar deal to McKennie’s.

If anything, Leeds need to replace Llorente – perhaps, recalling Charlie Cresswell from Millwall. Diogo Monteiro is also likely to come in, but he is a 21’s player. So, it is intriguing to understand why Leeds may allow Harrison to leave now.
