Raphinha started for Brazil on Monday during his country’s 1-0 win over Japan – but Leeds fans think that one of Raphinha’s opponents, Takumi Minamino could be about to join, reacting to a post on the Leeds Twitter account.
It was a penalty from Neymar that finally won the match in humid conditions, at the Japan National Stadium. Japan certainly could have won the game themselves, though, dominating periods of the second half.
Ultimately, Neymar proved to be the difference. Raphinha had a couple of half-chances in the first half, but failed to give Brazil the spark from the right and was substituted on 63 minutes. Minamino the same, 10 minutes later.
The Liverpool star is a target for Leeds, according to The Mirror. Another report says Lazio and Inter Milan are looking at the Japan star, with the Reds willing to cash in on Minamino if they receive a fee of £17million.
It comes after the 27-year-old managed just 11 Premier League appearances for the Reds last season. Clocking up 24 in all competitions, he still had the quality to score 10 times for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Leeds fans react to Minamino post
Leeds social media manager Craig Wilson posted an update after Brazil’s 1-0 win, informing Leeds fans that Raphinha – who gave an encouraging update about his future last week – came off after 63 minutes.
But Leeds fans think Wilson has dropped a hint with his post on Twitter. He uploaded an image alongside Raphinha of Leeds target Minamino [above] – and fans have responded in excitement over a potential move.
