Jack Harrison is reportedly a target for both Newcastle and Tottenham this summer – but Sky Sports reporter Tim Thornton has told Give Me Sport that the player is “happy” at Leeds wants to remain at Elland Road.
Harrison, 25, is gearing up for his fifth season at Elland Road. Joining initially on loan in 2018, he spent that season and the next two on loan at Leeds – before joining permanently last summer. He has played 166 times for the Whites.
Having a hand in 50 goals, he scored eight times in the Premier League last term. Such form has caught the eye of Newcastle and Tottenham – The Mail reporting over the weekend that Leeds are bracing themselves for offers.
Speaking to GMS, Sky Sports reporter Thornton has given his take on a potential move for the ex-Manchester City winger. He says that Harrison is happy at Leeds – and expects the England Under-21 international to remain.
“I would expect him to stay. There have been conversations; there’s been interest. There was a bit of interest back in the January transfer window as well, but I think Jack’s happy at Leeds. His stats are good, his goals record; his assists.”
Tottenham and Newcastle target Harrison happy at Leeds
Leeds have simply got to keep Harrison. They have cashed in on Kalvin Phillips and are about to wave goodbye to Raphinha. They have brought in replacements, and with the Raphinha cash, will need to sign a striker.
A left-back or an experienced back-up goalkeeper could also come in. But Leeds can do all of that with the cash they receive for Raphinha. They do not need to do it by selling any other players – namely, Harrison.
