It has been a summer whirlwind for Kalvin Phillips. Starring for England at Euro 2020 and starting all seven matches as the Three Lions reached the final, the Leeds midfielder is now enjoying some down time. But speaking in a video on Twitter, Phillips says he will return to Leeds very soon.
Phillips, 25, came into Euro 2020 having played every Premier League game for Leeds – when fit. While he missed nine matches due to a shoulder injury among other things, he still clocked up 30 outings in all competitions. No rest for the wicked, though, as he played eight England games in a month.
The likes of Robin Koch, Liam Cooper and Mateusz Klich are back at Leeds during pre-season training. That is, after Poland, Scotland and Germany were all out of Euro 2020 by the last 16. Koch did not play a single minute, while Liam Cooper only started one out of Scotland’s three games.

How long does Phillips say he has off, before Leeds return?
They are in a much more-refreshed state than Phillips is likely to be. Having completed the entire match in six of England’s seven – two of which lasted 120 minutes – Phillips is likely to be shattered. All the more surprising, then, that in a video on Twitter, he claims he only has 11 days off.
Asked when he will be back in Leeds training ahead of the upcoming 2021-22 season, Phillips responds: “I’ve got 11 days off. 10 more days, and the back into training.”
