Kalvin Phillips clocked up his second England cap with an assured performance as England beat Wales 3-0 at Wembley – and Danny Mills has responded to his performance with a four-word prediction on Instagram.
Phillips, 24, is quickly establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s best holding midfielders. Indeed, he is likely to add to his two caps before the end of the international break, and could soon surpass 200 Leeds outings.
His performance against Wales was excellent, but of no surprise to us Leeds fans. According to Whoscored, he finished with stunning stats of 94% accuracy from 64 passes, only touching the ball less than Michael Keane and Conor Coady.
He is clearly making a name for himself at the base of the midfield, and has given Gareth Southgate plenty of thinking to do ahead of next week’s UEFA Nations League matches against Belgium and Denmark.
Phillips has competition from West Ham’s Declan Rice, Tottenham’s Harry Winks, Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson and more for the defensive role but in both of his England appearances, Phillips could not have done much more to impress.
So much so, that ex-Leeds man Mills has made a prediction about Phillips’ England career on Instagram with a four-word post on his story. The former defender is a renowned fan of Phillips, and he reckons Phillips is only just at the beginning.
