The right side of Leeds United’s defence has become a problem area for Marcelo Bielsa. But Fulham’s Steven Sessegnon could be the answer.

HITC Sport claim the 18-year-old right-back – and twin brother of highly-rated Ryan Sessegnon – is a target for multiple Championship and Ligue 1 clubs.

Injuries to Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi have left Leeds bereft of options. Lewie Coyle is currently on loan League One side Fleetwood Town.

Bielsa has stated that Leeds will not be particularly active in the January window. If injuries continue to occur on the right side of defence, though, he must take action.

Sessegnon, an England Under-18 international, is highly-rated at Fulham despite being in the shadow of brother Ryan. He has made four senior appearances for the Cottagers.

Bielsa is known for his faith in youth and his ability to bring the best out of teenage stars. The likes of Jamie Shackleton, Jack Clarke and Bailey Peacock-Farrell have impressed under the Argentine’s guidance.

Landing Sessegnon on loan in January will give Leeds top-quality cover for the likes of Ayling and Berardi, as well as cover at centre-back and on the left side of defence. They must join the race for the Fulham product.
