Leeds United face Preston North End tonight, looking to extend their lead at the top of the Championship.

Under the guidance of new manager Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds are undefeated in the league.

They sit top of the table and fans are dreaming of a long-awaited return to the Premier League.

Tonight, they play host to Preston at Elland Road, with Alex Neil’s side in the relegation zone.

Here are three key duels to look out for tonight.

Jansson vs. Moult

Leeds face a Preston side with a depleted front line. Sean Maguire and Billy Bodin both miss tonight’s game through injury.

Louis Moult will probably start up front, although Lukas Nmecha and Graham Burke are also in contention.

These are still players who can cause Leeds some damage on their day so towering Sweden international Pontus Jansson will need to be on form to keep them quiet.

Phillips vs. Johnson

Preston were also missing their first-choice central midfield pairing of Ben Pearson and Alan Browne last weekend.

Browne might return but Pearson is still suspended, alongside Ryan Ledson.

In their absence, Daniel Johnson will carry the threat in midfield and it will be Kalvin Phillips’ job to shackle him and limit his influence.

Saiz vs. Clarke

Leeds are missing Kemar Roofe, Pablo Hernandez and Patrick Bamford, so Samu Saiz is the most dangerous forward player.

The Spanish attacking midfielder will look to cause Preston’s back-three all sorts of problems with his clever running lines and sublime skill.

If he can better the experienced Tom Clarke, then Leeds will surely win this game.
