Leeds United round off their pre-season tour of Australia with a clash with Crystal Palace on Friday – and here is our predicted lineup for the Whites.
Jesse Marsch’s men have won one and lost one since heading down under. There have certainly been some promising signs along the way. And it would be a real boost if they could now beat the Eagles.
Leeds have one more game upon their return from Oz. So Marsch may not use his strongest lineup just yet. And he may be tempted to try a few different combinations for the clash with Palace.
For example, Robin Koch may be rested after getting plenty of minutes under his belt so far. That may leave Diego Llorente and Pascal Struijk as the centre-back pairing.
Leif Davis may get another massive opportunity at left-back. He did give away the decisive penalty against Aston Villa. But he has done fairly well. Leo Hjelde or Jack Harrison are also contenders for the spot.
Adam Forshaw and Tyler Adams may play together in midfield. Marc Roca has arguably been the star of pre-season so far. And he will surely start against Wolves on the opening day. So Forshaw and Adams may be battling for one spot.
Luis Sinisterra may make a first start. He is still building up his fitness and sharpness. But the fans will want to see him start at some stage.
Leeds predicted lineup vs Crystal Palace: Struijk, Forshaw and Sinisterra start
Rodrigo could come back in. He is a leader in the side. And he is facing a fight for a starting spot. So he needs to grasp his chance.
Dan James and Patrick Bamford may start once again. But that lineup would see the likes of Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood and Crysencio Summerville miss out. So Marsch certainly has a raft of options.
With that in mind, here is how Leeds may look against Palace on Friday…
