The Athletic’s Leeds reporter Phil Hay has delivered an update on three Leeds United players who all look set to secure loan deals away from Elland Road this month – with Jordan Stevens set to see his current spell at Swindon Town cancelled, and then immediately sent on another temporary spell, but one closer to Yorkshire.

Stevens, 20, joined Swindon on loan in the summer and got off to a stunning start, scoring against Burton Albion on his debut. But Richie Wellens moved to Salford, and under former Leeds striker John Sheridan, Stevens has failed to get regular game time – starting just two of Swindon’s last 11 games. Leeds are now set to cancel that loan.

Hay has confirmed in a Tweet that Stevens will be recalled by Leeds and given that he has only played for Swindon this season, he is eligible to go on loan a second time – with a move to Bradford City now expected, where he will join up with Leeds Under-23 teammate Bryce Hosannah. However, the latter is currently overcoming a long-term hamstring injury.

That is only one of three updates provided by Hay. Another is the situation surrounding England Under-19 international Ryan Edmondson, who has struggled to start regularly for Aberdeen – scoring only two goals in 15 outings. His loan has ended at Aberdeen given he only joined for half a season, but the Dons are keen to extend that loan until the summer.

The final update from Hay is that of 21-year-old Tyler Roberts. The Wales international has fallen down the pecking order under Marcelo Bielsa this season – initially starting some games to failing to even make the matchday squad against Tottenham. Bournemouth have been linked, while Hay has confirmed that Derby and Wayne Rooney are interested in signing Roberts this month. Whether a deal goes through, remains to be seem.
